A Keyword will search any word in the Description or Subject of the Image Record. Multiple words are searched as one phrase. Use one or more pull down lists to limit your search by Content Type, Historic Contexts, or Collections. If you wish to narrow your search to a specific Year, enter that year in the box. It is possible to use the pull down lists without entering any keywords. Examples:

It is not necessary to capitalize. If you do not find anything when searching a full name, try searching by the person's surname (last name). Many historical documents list names differently, as initials or partial names. George Avery may be also listed as George Portner Avery, G.P. Avery, Geo. Avery, or Avery, George.
