3. Lone Tree School

An excellent example of the one-room country schools found on the Colorado Plains at the turn of the century. Operated as a "living history museum."

4. Namaqua Park (City of Loveland Parks & Recreation)

County Rd. 19E and Big Thompson River (Hwy 34 west to Namaqua Ave., South on Namaqua to the Park entrance.)

Daily until 9pm

Commemorates Fort Namaqua, trading post and home of Mariano Modena, early trapper. Established in 1859, Fort Namaqua was the first settlement in the Big Thompson Valley.

Site of Loveland's original hydroelectric plant dating from 1925. Also commemorates the Big Thompson Flood.
