Do You Wish to Obtain Research Assistance?
The Local History Archivist and Research Assistants assist local patrons researching primary source materials in the archive and also provides limited services to out-of-town patrons. Copies of biographical information included in the Obituary Files (only years 1977-present), Biographical Files, or the five major Larimer County History books will be sent upon request. The cost for each copy is $.10 with a $2.00 minimum charge. The Archive staff does not perform research on microfilm. All requests will be processed on a time available basis.
Other informational requests will be referred to the Larimer County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 9502, Fort Collins, 80525-9502. You may also access the Larimer County GenWeb site. Additionally your local library may process Interlibrary Loan requests for obituaries on microfilm and history books from the Fort Collins Regional Library District. Please contact your local library for the ILL request form.

Send Information about Your Family
Submit Your Family Historical Information allows you to help update data and fill in missing information about your family members. In general, a person should meet one or more of the following criteria in order to be related to Fort Collins local history in the on-line database:
- The person must have been a resident of Larimer County or Fort Collins, Colorado at least 50 years ago.
- The person could be related to a person who qualifies in item 1, but removed from Fort Collins by no more than one generation. This type of person could be an ancestor, descendant, or key business associate of a person who would qualify.
- The person could be or have been a resident or owner of a historic building built over 50 years ago or located in an historic district.
- The person could be a public or historic figure of Colorado, the Rocky Mountain Region, or the United States with some tie to Fort Collins.

Know a little of Fort Collins History that we do not have on-line? You may Add a Time Bit that contains information about a specific event in time and links to additional information on people and places in the archive database.
The Time Line allows the user to select time periods and subjects/themes to build a specific text time line. The Timeline is created by and for our Users.

Can't Find What You are Looking for On-Line?
The Local History staff will answer brief factual questions or provide suggestions to sources where you might find the answer you need about the history of the Fort Collins area with the Local History Electronic Reference Service. Simply fill out the form provided. All requests will be processed on a time available basis.
