"The Aggie Hikers club .. is a college of hardy,
healthy young men and women who take a keen interest in
the invigorating mountain pleasures that the club
furnishes them. The activities of the club include
hiking, skiing, tobogganing, mountain climbing, skating,
sitting around the campfire gossiping and telling
stories, cooking, eating, and absorbing talks on outdoor
sports. The club has long hard hikes for those who wish
to test themselves, and short ones for those who desire
less strenuous tasks. The feature of the year is a three
or four day camping trip to Lory Hi, north of Estes Park.
It is in the Hikers Club where companionship, keen
enjoyment, and invigorating health are combined to make
us love life." -- Silver Spruce, 1929
