Photographic Collection Use Fees
Photographs from the Fort Collins Museum
Archive's Collections are not loaned for any purpose and
photographs of the collections may not be taken. Copies
of photographs, unless restricted, are available for purchase. Permission
is granted for one-time use only; any subsequent use requires
written permission and possibly payment of additional fees. The
photographs may not be enhanced by computer digital imaging or
otherwise altered or modified in any way without written
permission. The enhanced photographs may not be used for resale;
the photograph belongs to the Fort Collins Museum. All
responsibility for questions of copyright liability and release
violations that may arise in the use made of reproduced material
is assumed by the user. Any photographic or digital copies of
material in our collections must be credited as follows: "Courtesy Fort Collins Museum" followed by the photographer or artist if known. Two complimentary copies of any book, article, menu, etc. in which
the Museum's photographs are used shall be donated to the
Museum. All orders must be paid in advance. The Archive accepts cash and checks (made out to Fort Collins Museum) and major credit cards.

The Archive does not provide the service of scanning
photographs; a print may be ordered for your scanning purposes if
you have received permission to scan the print. Processing fees
for both commercial and non-commercial orders are charged at the
estimated prices below. These estimated prices can vary according to the
specifics of the order such as special paper, etc.
All prints will be on glossy paper unless a matte
finish is specified. Sepia toned prints are available for an additional charge. Prices for other sizes, and for
color prints from color negatives, will be quoted on request.
Normal delivery time is two weeks. Rush orders for 3-4 days are
taken at an additional fee equal to 50% of the order. The cost
for one day processing of rush orders will be $20 for a 5x7 print
or smaller, and the one day cost of processing larger prints will be quoted
after obtaining the vendor's price.

Copy Negatives: When a copy negative needs to be created in
order to provide a requested print, patrons will be charged a
partial fee of $10.00 for this service, in addition to the cost of
prints. All negatives remain the property of the Museum.
Copy Negative: $10.00
Commercial reproduction use fees: Use fees are charged
for the commercial use of photographs or slides, in addition to
processing fees, as follows. No use fees are charged for
non-commercial use in publications issued by non-profit societies
or agencies in Colorado. Additionally, no use fees are charged
for the use of photographs by the news media in newspaper
articles, newscasts, or documentaries. Credit must be given to
the Fort Collins Museum, regardless of whether a use fee
is charged or not.

Donations
The Local History Archive gladly
accepts donations pertaining to Fort Collins and Colorado
history. We also appreciate the opportunity to copy information
and photographs which the owner wants to retain in their
possession. This list is a guideline of items you may wish to
donate or loan to the archive for copying purposes. If you have
any question about items not listed, please contact the Local
