DescriptionThe Fort Collins, Colorado Sugar Company building, built in 1903. It was built on 120 acres on the North bank of the Poudre River a little East of the northern extension of Linden Street. The main building was 300 feet by 70 feet and 4 stories high. It contained 2, 000 tons of steel, 8, 000 perches of stone and 3 million bricks. Originally called Fort Collins-Colorado Company, it was consolidated with Great Western Sugar in 1905. It was closed in 1955 and only the warehouse still stands and is used by the Fort Collins Street Department. and is located at 625 Ninth Street. The city purchased the land and buildings in 1992 for $950, 000.
