DescriptionThe Linden Hotel, 201 W. Linden St.; Fort Collins, Colorado. This photograph was taken by Tom Peace in 1983. The Linden Hotel has undergone many changes and uses since it was built in 1882. It was designed by William Quayle, a Denver architect, originally for the Poudre Valley Bank. There were stores on the second floor and the Masonic Lodge leased the third floor in 1885. In the early 1900s the second floor became a hotel and it is still referred to today as the Linden Hotel. Other past uses were a post office, a tavern, VFW bar, combination residential efficiency and single room units, and thrift shops. Today it is occupied by Nature's Own Imagination, with the upper floors vacant.
