There is a sign on the side of the cabin that reads "Historic Log Cabin. Built by a French Trapper in 1858. Probably Oldest Building in the Community. Purchased by Wesley Tharpe in 1877. Present Owner: Mr. and Mrs. Jake Holtz: Mr. Holtz Was Born in the Cabin"
