Created in 2007, the Fort Collins History Connection is an online partnership between the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery and the Poudre River Public Library District, incorporating historical resources from the Library, the Archive, and the Museum artifact collection.
The vision and mission of the History Connection is to be the first-stop electronic resource for anyone who is interested in the history of Fort Collins and the Cache la Poudre region.
At the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery our mission is to create meaningful opportunities to learn, reflect, and have fun through hands-on and collections-based explorations in science and culture.
The Archive is part of the Museum of Discovery and through this mission we bring the past to the present by collecting, preserving, organizing, and providing access to primary resources that help tell the story of Fort Collins.
At Poudre River Public Library District we are committed to enriching and serving the community as a center of lifelong and lifewide learning.
We would like to invite you to 'Connect to Curiosity' -- the curiosity that speaks to an innate human spirit and spark of wonder that drives us toward new ideas and new possibilities. You'll find the spirit of curiosity infused throughout the entire Library District: our people, our spaces, our partnerships, and the programs, services, and collections we provide the public.
That connection to curiosity is also found in the history of our community. Through the History Connection and our ongoing partnership with the Archive and the Museum, we can explore our collective past together. So let us be curious, ask the questions, and discover the answers.
