City Directories and Telephone Books

City directories, published annually, contain four major sections:

  1. Alphabetical listing of people and businesses
  2. Street Guide that lists addresses with their occupants
  3. Business Section listing businesses by type
  4. Rural Section listing only the people who live in the rural areas

Telephone books dated 1964 through 1977 and 1980 are scanned and available for viewing online.

  • Physical copies of the city directories and telephone books are available for research at the Fort Collins Local History Archive.
  • The 1904, 1906, and 1907 city directories do not feature the Street Guide.
  • No known city directories were produced from 1941 through 1947. The Archive does have telephone books for 1941 through 1949.
