The safe deposit and security vault is a massive fire and burglar-proof structure, built within the walls of the main building, but entirely independent of them. It is lined with interlying plates of Chrome and Bessemer steel of very great thickness. The plans were furnished by one of the most experienced vault engineers in the United States, and the vault constructed under his supervision. Nothing that would contribute to its strength has been omitted.
This vault contains for rental, four hundred safe deposit boxes, varying in price from $3.00 to $7.50 per year, according to size. The rental of these boxes has been fixed so low that persons of small means, desiring to place their securities, bank books, insurance, water stock, or other valuable papers in a place of perfect security, cannot afford to be without one.
